TGIF

Well to start off I sold some of my baby girl clothes yesterday to a friend on base...YAH! Also I sold our extra tv, they just gotta come pick it up. Plus a friend is coming to look at my women clothes tomorrow and possibly might buy some. I am so ready to get rid of them.. And we could always use the money. We finally got food in our house today. I couldn't wait to go shopping. We needed it. Plus we had to get stuff for Jeremy to take with him on the ship. It was kind of sad, seeing him get these things. This Friday is gonna be a sad one. =( Anyhow, Christa stayed the night with a friend on base and they went to movie night on base and saw Kung Fu Panda. Me, Jeremy and the little ones just hang out around the house. I talk to my brother for almost 2 hours tonight!! Thats the longest I think we've ever talked on the phone. Hes doing ok, but is going through alot of drama. So anyhow, thats my short blog. Now back to putting more clothes on my myspace. I have too damn many.

What is a Military Wife?

A friend had this on her blog and I thought it was cute. It explains so much about what we military wife go through. Well I am gonna experience the REAL Deployment next week, so I will definitely know what its like. Its gonna be a long 7 mths. I'm a strong person, just might need a shoulder to cry on sometimes..lol

What is a MILITARY Wife?

They may look different and each is wonderfully unique
But this they have in common.
They have THIS IN COMMON!

lots of moving---
moving
moving
moving far from home
moving two cars, three kids and one dog----all riding with HER of course
moving sofas to basements because they won't go in THIS house
moving curtains that won't fit
moving jobs and certifications and professional development hours
moving away from friends moving toward new friends
moving her most important luggage; her trunk full of memories

often waiting-
waiting, waiting, waiting for housing; waiting for orders; waiting
for deployment; waiting for reunion; waiting for phones calls;
waiting for the new curtains to arrive; waiting for him to come home for dinner----AGAIN!

They call her 'military dependent', but she knows better
she can balance a checkbook
handle the yard work
fix a noisy toilet.
She is intimately familiar with drywall, anchors, and toggle bolts.
She can file the taxes, sell a house, buy a car, or set up a move, --
--all with ONE Power of Attorney.

She welcomes neighbors that don't welcome her.
Reinvents her career with every PCS; locates a house in the desert,
the arctic, or the deep south and learns to call them all 'home'.
She MAKES them all home.

She is fiercely IN-dependent

Military Wives are somewhat hasty
They leap into decorating, leadership, volunteering, career alternatives,
churches and friendships.
They don't have 15 years to get to know people.
Their roots are short but flexible.
They plant annuals for themselves and perennials for those who come after them.

Military Wives quickly learn to value each other. They connect over coffee, rely on the spouse-network and accept offersof friendship and favors and record addresses in pencil.

MilitaryWives have a common bond. The Military Wife has a husband unlike otherhusbands. His commitment is unique. He doesn't have a job, he has a'mission' he can't just decide to quit.
He's on-call for his country 24/7 but for you, he's the most...
Unreliable guy in town!
His language is foreign: TDY, PCS, OPR, ACC, BDU
And so, a Military Wife is a translator for her family and his.
She is the long-distance link to keep them informed; the glue that holds them together.

Military Wife has her moments--
She wants to wring his neck, dye his uniform pink, and refuse to move to Siberia.
Butshe pulls herself together. Give her a few days, a travel brochure, along hot bath, a pledge to the flag, and a wedding picture.
And she goes.
She packs.
She moves.
She follows.

Why? What for? How come? You may think it is because she has lost her mind.
But actually it is because she has lost her heart.
It was stolen from her by a man
who puts duty first
who longs to deploy
who salutes the flag
and whose boots in the doorway remind her that as long as he is her Military husband,
She will remain his Military wife.

Good Deed

Well lets see started off my day by getting Christa off to school and then I got on the comp and decided that I need to post somewhere about all the baby girl clothes I have and get rid of them. Well the first one to respond was a foster mother. She told me she had 2 little girls ages 1 and 2 and needed some clothes. So I told her I would be glad to help, but I had to wait until my hubby got home to meet her off base. So I cleaned around the house and played with my little ones. When Jeremy finally got home, I explain to him that I would be helping a foster mother. I forgot to mention that she wanted my high chair too. But I had a price on it, because its a name brand one. So anyhow, Christa and I jumped in the car and headed off to meet her. On the way, I saw 2 umbrella strollers on the side of the road and picked them up. I thought maybe she would need them too. She took all 3 bags, and gave me $15 for my high chair.Plus the 2 strollers. She was a very nice lady. The story on the girls, were they are all sisters and they came to her from a very abusive family and never really had anything nice. After helping her load everything, she asked me and Christa if we want to meet the girls I was donating to. So we got to meet them. They were all 3 black girls. And they were beautiful little girls. They didn't say much. But I told the lady that they are so blessed to have people like you to take care of them. So I am happy that I could help her. After that we went to pick up some clothes from freecycle for Alexa. I got some nice clothes and shoes for Alexa. Then I went to get some food and went home. We ate dinner and then I decided that I was going to take picture of all the suff I want to get rid of and put them on myspace and maybe some other group and see if I can get anything for them. I have alot of nice name brand stuff, so who ever gets them will have nice things. I also got a email from the lady I donated to and she said Thank you for all the nice clothes and that those girls were gonna be in the nicest dressed on their block. I am so glad that I can make a difference in someone's life. It makes you appreciate what you have. Cause there are so many people that don't get as nice of things as we do. Well I guess that was my wonderful day.

Up late with Madisyn

Well I am up late with Maddi because well she is still wetting the bed. I have tried the not giving her a drink a hour before bed, and we have talk to her about it, but it just seems that during the day she is definitely potty broke, but when she sleeps, she can't control it. So I just got her back to sleep and thought I would blog real quick. Well today I got to sleep in because hubby got up with the girls and made them breakfast. So I eventually got up and started cleaning and playing with the girls around the house. We went outside to play and I raked up some brush out in our back yard, while they played on the swing set. Hubby stayed in playing his computer games. So we went in because the mosquitoes were biting and lets just say hubby and I argued most of the day then. Its mainly my fault, but partly his too. I know they say you argue alot before he leaves for deployment and maybe thats why. But I really don't want him to leave with us on a bad note, ya know. So we talked it out and hugged and all. Marriage is just hard sometimes. All the decisions and responsibities you take on, plus trying to keep each other happy. Marriage is just a job in itsself. Well thats what I think anyhow. But if you think about it, its all worth it. We have our ups and downs like anyone else. I am just a very emotional person and I could sit and talk about how I feel all day. Hubby on the other hand its like pulling teeth sometimes, just to get him to tell me how he is feeling. I guess thats just what bugs me the most. We are close and he talks to me, but to me, I guess I expect more. IDK. Anyhow, I better get back to cuddling with my hubby. I have 2 weeks to enjoy his presents and then its just me and the kids.

Glad Faye has passed

Well lets see. yesterday, we had some pretty strong winds and rain and our electric went out 3 times! So we went outside to see if anyone was out there and alot of the neighbors were enjoying some time outside while it wasn't raining. The wind felt good being out there. We stood outside talking to my neighbor Tammy and Billy for awhile and then went in and lit some candles and played Trouble. It was fun. After that we pulled out the couch bed and let the girls sleep there. So it was like our little family camp out in the living room. After I finally got Alexa to sleep. I couldn't sleep, so I stood by the window watching the storm. Finally after about half hour and the eletric not coming back on, I went to sleep by Alexa. Maddi woke me up and we went in to Jeremy and I's bed to sleep. About 3 AM I heard the power kick on. I went and turned off some lights we had on in the house and then sat down at the computer to catch up. Well all 3 girls decided to join me and laid around walking the Disney channel on TV. We got up and me and the girls got in the shower while Dad played his computer game. He was in the middle of a battle last night when the electricity went out...LOL Then we cleaned around the house and went outside to start cleaning up the yard. There was alot of brush from the trees and we cleaned out our sunroom. YIKES! I use to love that room, but I hate it now, cause there are always spiders back there. So we took everything out and Jeremy sprayed it out. We are gonna start putting our outside stuff back there instead of making our yard look trashy with everything strung out. So anyhow. I am guessing the kids will go back to school on Monday. We have 2 weeks with my hubby before he leaves for deployment =( We are thinking about going to Sea World this coming Friday. Then we have a b-day party at Hannah Park Sat. Then hopefully enjoy as much time with daddy as possible. I hate to see my hubby go, and altho, I know he hates to leave us, I think hes alittle pumped to go too. I just hope nothing bad happens while hes gone. Anyhow, I better stop here. I will write tomorrow.

Bring it on Tropical Storm Faye

So its getting really windy and the rain is coming down. I believe this is the beginning of Faye. I just went outside and it wasn't like I was gonna get blown away, but the rain was blowing on me under our carport. They say the winds could get up to 40 mph and as of right now Faye is stabilized. Which means she is still down by Daytona Beach. We have been watching accuweather.com and it shows the radar. Anyhow its kind of neat watching the storm. If it stays like this it won't be so bad. But it could change, cause with the storm staying in one place, it could mean that it is gaining strength. So we just hope and pray it doesn't turn into a hurricane. I have some clothes packed for each of my girls and a bag a toys. Some covers and flashlights ready, I really need to pack a few things for Jeremy and I too. Just in case we have to leave. Our cable has been fade in and out sometimes. So anyhow, I will keep you all updated. But check out accuweather.com .

Worried about Tropical Storm Fay

Well lets see I got up today when Jeremy left for work. I haven't slept good since the night before when they told us to move everything outside to a stable place. So Jeremy and I moved everything into our sun room and the shed. I worry alot. So anyhow, I got up and tried to get on myspace and here and our stupid comp wouldn't let me access myspace, blogger, or hotmail. I was getting mad, so I went all day with out it. Grr. Anyhow I made eggs and toast for breakfast and the girls got up. Then it was 20 questions from Christa. She hates storms, but always wants to know the latest. lol Anyhow it rained today and I kept an eye on the weather. They said that Fay should be over us by Thursday am. So we just cleaned around the house and I laid back down for awhile in the afternoon. All the rain has made me really lazy lately. Anyhow, I let the girls draw with markers and they made me some pictures to hang on the frigde. Then about 1pm Jeremy comes walking in the door saying hes off the rest of the day and tomorrow. So he was happy. Those poor sailors that are attached to the ships here at Mayport got shipped out yesterday. I feel sorry for their families they left behind. Anyhow I begged Jeremy to look at the computer and he finally decided to wipe out the whole thing down to the basic stuff it came with. So I burnt all my pics from the comp and he wiped it out. We had problems getting comcast to come up, but now its all fixed. So I am happy.
Everytime I hear my chime outside, I know the winds are getting strong and I hear it now. So maybe Fay is close I am gonna check the weather channel in a sec. OH YEAH and if you didn't know we have Ditgial phone, internet, and cable now!! So we all really like it so far. Anyhow I am heading to bed. I will update on Fay tomorrow.

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Well I am really tired today. I didn't get much sleep, cause I kept tossing and turning. Trying to get comfy. Hubby tried cuddling and I would be fine for a while, then I would have to turn. It was aggravating. I don't know what my problem was, but needless to say, I didn't get a good nights sleep. But I had to get up pretty early to get Christa up for school and Maddi ready for WIC this morning. Jeremy had to take off work, So I could use the van today. But he got to spend some time with Alexa while Maddi and I went to WIC. I really hate going. Our appt was at 8:15am and we didn't get out of there until 10:30!!!So since we were by the Pre K that Christa went to, I decided to stop there and see if I could get Maddi on a list for next year. But they don't do that and Christa's teacher that she had moved away =( So, I was alittle upset, cause I really liked Mrs. Regina. She was a GREAT teacher. Then we stopped to get some WIC items at the store and went home. So I am gonna TRY and get some things done around the house today. I just feel so lazy, since I didn't sleep good. So I'm gonna push myself to get things done....

  • scrub bathrooms
  • sweep and mop kitchen, hallway and our bedroom
  • lunch
  • vacuum
  • finish laundry
  • get Christa from school
  • snack
  • homework
  • dinner
  • have girls clean rooms before bedtime
  • bed time 8:30pm

Christa's first day of school

So I decided to blog here again. Well I got Christa up this morning to get ready for her first day of 1st Grade. She was excited and to make things better, we ran into my friend Keri and her kids. And her son Christian and Christa are in the same class. So YEAH, cause they really do get along good. After she ran into Christian, she forgot about being nervous. We found her class room and got to go in and see what it looked like. I met her teacher for the first time, because I was unable to make it to the orientation. Ms Bary seems like a nice teacher and my neighbor's daughter and had her and said she liked her alot. So that made me feel alittle better. So I got the paper work to fill out today. It started to rain on our way back home. Keri gave us a invitation to her daughters b-day party at the end of the month. So Maddi was happy about that. She absolutely loves b-day parties. Manly the cake...hehehe Well I guess thats it today. Heres my to-do list.
